10 TV Unit Designs for Bangalore Homes — 2026
1. Fluted Panel Feature Wall — The 2025 Standard
Vertical ribbed MDF or real wood slat panels across the entire TV wall height, with a floating shelf unit and concealed LED backlight above the TV. The single most popular living room upgrade in Suntew's 2025 portfolio. The ribbed panels change character with light throughout the day — subtle in morning daylight, dramatic with the 7pm cove lights. Available in 100+ laminate finishes. Most popular colours: warm walnut, dark charcoal, and teal. Cost: Rs.55,000–85,000 mid-range.
2. Classic Floating Shelf — Clean and Functional
A single floating TV shelf at the correct viewing height (TV centre at 100–110cm from floor for sofa viewing), with closed storage cabinets below for equipment, and open shelves on either side for display. All cables routed internally — nothing visible. The most classic TV unit configuration. Works in every living room size. Cost: Rs.25,000–40,000.
3. Full Entertainment Wall with Bookshelf Integration
The TV wall extending floor-to-ceiling across the full wall width — with the TV in a central niche, flanked by open bookshelf sections for books, plants, and objects. Closed cabinets below on either side for media equipment and miscellaneous storage. The most functional TV wall option — provides substantial storage while creating an architectural backdrop. Cost: Rs.65,000–1 lakh.
4. Dark Accent TV Wall
The TV wall painted in a deep accent colour — dark navy, forest green, or charcoal — while the other walls remain light neutral. A floating shelf unit in a contrasting material (white or natural wood). The most cost-effective dramatic TV wall — the impact comes from the paint colour, not expensive cladding. Works only when the other three walls are genuinely light and the room has reasonable natural light. Cost: Rs.22,000–38,000 (paint + unit).
5. Real Wood Slat Wall
Natural or engineered wood slats — teak, oak, or pine — applied vertically or horizontally across the TV wall. Warmer and more organic than MDF fluted panels. The grain variation of real wood makes every wall genuinely unique. More expensive than MDF alternatives but significantly more premium in appearance and tactile quality. Cost: Rs.90,000–1.3 lakhs mid-range.
6. Stone Cladding Panel
Natural or cultured stone cladding panels on the TV wall — slate, sandstone, or manufactured stone veneer. Creates a raw, organic texture that neither paint nor laminate can replicate. Works powerfully in both traditional and industrial-contemporary interiors. Heavier than gypsum or laminate — requires proper wall fixing. Cost: Rs.55,000–90,000.
7. Limewash Plaster Wall
Artisan limewash or Venetian plaster applied in layers behind the TV — creating a warm, organic, textured surface that changes appearance with light throughout the day. No two limewash walls are identical, making this the most genuinely unique TV wall finish. Growing in popularity in premium Bangalore apartments. Cost: Rs.35–55/sqft for the finish, plus floating shelf unit.
8. Handleless Panel TV Wall
Floor-to-ceiling push-to-open panels across the full TV wall — all closed, all seamless, all handleless. The TV mounted in a recessed section that closes completely when not in use. Hidden media room aesthetic. Every closed panel conceals storage. The most "no visible clutter" TV wall possible. Cost: Rs.85,000–1.5 lakhs depending on wall width.
9. Backlit Niche TV Wall
A recessed niche built into the TV wall — the TV sits inside the niche, slightly set back from the wall surface, with LED backlight (typically warm white or soft amber) around the interior of the niche. The light creates a glowing frame around the TV without direct exposure. Dramatically more cinematic than a screen on a flat wall. Cost: Rs.45,000–75,000 for the niche plus unit.
10. Traditional Carved Wood Panel
A hand-carved teak or rosewood panel behind the TV — with the screen mounted on the carved surface. Traditional South Indian jali patterns, floral motifs, or geometric carvings. The most expensive TV wall option and the most culturally specific. Perfect for traditional homes in South Bangalore and for Mangalorean homes with a classical aesthetic. Cost: Rs.1.2–3 lakhs for a custom carved panel.
Cable Management — The Most Important Invisible Detail
Every Suntew TV unit includes concealed cable management as standard — not as an upgrade. A PVC conduit runs inside the wall from the TV mount point to a concealed equipment compartment below. All HDMI, power, and antenna cables route through the conduit. The power point is placed inside the equipment compartment, not on the wall surface. The result: nothing visible anywhere on the wall between the TV and the unit below. This is planned before the unit is fabricated — adding it after costs Rs.3,000–6,000 and still looks worse.
