The bedroom has one primary job: help you sleep well and start your mornings without frustration. Good bedroom design is not about how the room photographs. It is about blackout capability when you want it, storage that doesn't require searching, lighting that works at midnight and at 6am, and a temperature that the design has not accidentally made worse. Suntew approaches every bedroom project with these priorities before aesthetics.
Storage First — Then Design
Before we choose a colour for your bedroom, we conduct a storage audit. How many long-hanging garments in the household? How many short-hanging items? How many folded shelves do you need? How many drawers? Shoe storage — open, closed, or both? Suitcase storage? Bedding storage? Seasonal item storage? The answers to these questions determine the wardrobe layout before we consider any material or finish. This process takes about 20 minutes and prevents the most common bedroom design regret: a beautifully finished wardrobe that doesn't actually store everything you own.

Wardrobe Types — Choosing the Right One
Sliding wardrobes are the correct choice for bedrooms under 130 sq ft — and that means most second bedrooms and many master bedrooms in Bangalore 2BHK apartments. No door-swing clearance required. Mirror panels on the sliding doors visually double the room width and eliminate the separate full-length mirror. Most popular configuration: 8-foot wall-to-wall sliding wardrobe with a loft section above reaching the ceiling. The loft adds 40% more storage for seasonal items, suitcases, and extra bedding.
Hinged wardrobes make sense for bedrooms above 160 sq ft where full simultaneous access to the interior matters. You can see and reach everything in the wardrobe at once. Better for households with lots of variety in what needs to be accessed daily.
Walk-in wardrobes are possible in smaller spaces than most people realise. A 5×5 ft alcove can become a functional walk-in with full-height rails on two walls, open shelving for folded items, a compact island with drawers, and LED strip lighting. This is the single most impactful luxury upgrade for a master bedroom and it works in standard Bangalore 2BHK apartments more often than homeowners expect.
False Ceiling and Lighting — Designed Together
Bedroom ceiling and lighting must be designed simultaneously. Suntew will not let a false ceiling go up without a complete lighting plan — cove channel width, LED profile type, driver location, downlight positions, circuit grouping — all finalised before the first board is cut. The difference between a ceiling that looks designed versus one that looks installed is almost entirely in whether the ceiling contractor had this information before they started.
Suntew's standard bedroom lighting: perimeter cove at 3000K warm white for ambient, 2–3 recessed 4000K downlights on a separate circuit for morning routine and reading, dedicated bedside reading lights on a third circuit. Four circuits total — including the fan. All on separate switches at the door, and ideally a single dimmer panel at the bedside for the cove and downlights.
Vastu Shastra for Bedrooms
Vastu compliance is a standard option on every Suntew bedroom project, not an upsell. The key principles we apply when requested: bed orientation (head to south, east is acceptable, north is specifically avoided for disrupting magnetic alignment); mirror placement away from the sleeping position (mirrors on wardrobe sliding doors are fine — they're visible standing, not lying down); master bedroom position in the southwest corner of the home when the layout allows it; and colour selection appropriate to the room's directional orientation.
We apply Vastu principles within the constraints of your actual apartment layout — we don't tell you to knock down walls or change windows. We work with what you have.
