Fluted panel walls remain the dominant trend in 2026 for good reason — they create genuine architectural value at a reasonable cost and they work in virtually every style of interior. The vertical ribbed profile creates shadow lines that make the wall look alive at different times of day. At 8am with morning light, the shadows are soft and barely visible. At 7pm with the cove light hitting them from above, the depth is dramatic and cinematic. Dark accent walls — deep navy, forest green, charcoal — behind the TV as a colour statement without texture cost. Effective and budget-friendly. Cost: Rs.3,000–8,000 for paint and texture versus Rs.40,000–80,000 for panels. If budget is tight, this is the right move.
Bookshelf integration — the entertainment wall extending to include open book shelving on either side of the TV. Books, plants, artwork, and family photos integrated into the design. Popular in homes with a library aesthetic and with older generations who haven't gone entirely digital.
Limewash texture walls — artisan plaster applied in layers, each slightly different in tone and texture. No two limewash walls are identical. The most expensive of the current trends (Rs.35–55/sqft for the plaster finish plus the TV unit) but also the most genuinely unique result.
Cable Management — The Most Important Invisible Detail
Visible cables are the most common avoidable mistake in TV unit installations. A Rs.65,000 entertainment wall looks unfinished with cables running down to a power strip sitting on the floor. The solution costs essentially nothing when planned from the start.
Suntew's standard cable management: a dedicated 50mm PVC conduit runs from the TV mounting point down through the wall to a concealed equipment compartment in the lower section of the TV unit. Before the unit is fabricated, we coordinate with the electrician to place a power point and all equipment-connection points inside this compartment — not on the wall surface. HDMI, power, set-top box coax, and any other cables route through the conduit. The result: nothing visible on the wall from the TV mount down. Ever.
If the conduit is planned before the TV unit is built: zero additional cost. If retrofitted after: Rs.3,000–6,000 and the result still looks slightly worse than planning it correctly from the start.
Sizing the TV Wall Correctly
One of the most common mistakes: a TV unit that is too small for the wall it sits on. A 6-foot unit in a 16-foot living room looks like a postage stamp. The TV wall treatment should occupy the majority of the wall it is on.
For rooms up to 13ft wide: a 6-foot floating unit with panel treatment extending 2 feet on each side to the ceiling is appropriate. For rooms 13–17ft wide: an 8-foot entertainment wall with floor-to-ceiling height treatment. For rooms above 17ft: full-wall treatment with integrated closed storage, open shelving, and a dedicated panel niche for the TV.
